Release 2006
Tony McPhee and Groundhogs formed in 1963 backed JOHN LEE HOOKER when on tour in the UK -
- they recorded 1 LP together and a group single on Planet Records was released too.
The Band disbanded in 1965 to be reformed in 1968.
In the meantime Tony recorded under the name HERBAL MIXTURE two psychedelic singles for the COLUMBIA label.
Around this time he was also involved in recording the first LP with the JOHN DUMMER BLUES BAND named Cabal
appeared on 2LPs from Jo-Ann Kelly.
Beginning with THANK CHRIST FOR THE BOMB they recorded in a very special own sound, kind of heavy style with Blues elements,
which was followed by the next LPs too.
TONY recorded a solo album experimenting with synthesizers.
